environment

HMF has guided our clients as regards various environmental issues, disputes, regulations, permitting and appeals.

We assist in the interpretation and application of Jamaican environmental legislation and regulations in Jamaica. We guide our clients as regards applications, permitting process, reviews and appeals before the National Environment and Planning Agency, Water Resources Authority, Jamaica National Heritage Trust, National Land Agency, Ministry of Lands and Water, Ministry of Industry Investment and Commerce, KSAC and Parish Councils as well as the various legislations and regulations falling under these agencies to ensure full and continued regulatory compliance.

We support a “green” Jamaica and can advise on legal aspects of environmental solutions, natural resource development, natural resource protection and conservancy, solar and wind energy projects.

Our litigators advise and act as regards environmental accidents and disasters, oil leaks, pollution issues and indemnity and insurance claims and settlements pertaining to environmental breaches.

We have advised and assisted with environmental due diligence, contractual issues and drafting these terms into commercial agreements.
